" Extraordinarily Human Software "

We are your long-term technical partner—bringing senior engineering, product design, and systems thinking to companies that are ready to build something special.

What we do

Renae Marjorie

is a designer and co-founder of Marjorie James. For over a decade, she's designed software that helps people achieve their goals without tedium, frustration, or especially digital abuse. She stays deeply involved by shipping code, testing, measuring, and seeing it through until it's right.

Her background is in the deep end of enterprise UX—telematics, live data, data visualization, and complex workflows in manufacturing, agriculture, and industrial safety. She's active in the design community, serving as the President of the Graphic Design Advisory Council for Iowa State and speaking at academic or industry events. When quality is at stake, she ensures it meets the highest standards: her own.

Brandon James

was born cold, naked, and alone, yet overcame these obstacles to become the engineering half of Marjorie James. For over 15 years he has built the backend systems that people trust without ever thinking about them: payment systems that move real money, APIs that become load-bearing the moment they ship, and mission-critical tooling that other companies build their businesses on.

He's scaled systems to hundreds of thousands of users, led teams through the migrations and rescues nobody volunteers for, and treats the word "done" as a hypothesis, not a fact. His best work is the kind you never notice, because it never gives you a reason to.

Let's build something special together.

Brandon leads every engagement full-time. Renae brings design and user experience expertise. You work directly with us, and we treat your business like it's our own.

We're selective about who we work with because when we're in, we're all the way in. If you're building something worth caring about, we'd love to hear about it. Contact us for a technical therapy session and bring everything that has hurt you.
